From Chairman
Chairman
Yoshinori Kikuchi
I was appointed Chairman at the 67th Ordinary General Meeting held in May. By working closely with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, universities, and related organizations, and by listening sincerely to the voices of our members and serving them, we would like to further develop Japan’s gear industry and to improve its international competitiveness.
On a personal note, my first overseas trip was in 1992, in the fall of my senior year at university, when I participated in a tour of the gear industry in the United States organized by the Japan Gear Manufacturers Association. I still remember that moment vividly. Since then, I have participated in numerous domestic and international inspections, as well as numerous technical and management training sessions. I have received a lot of guidance from my seniors, and I have received great inspiration from many of my colleagues. I believe that I am who I am today because I was nurtured by the Japan Gear Manufacturers Association.
I will continue to carry on the traditional Japan Gear Manufacturers Association that our predecessors have built up, and by conducting even more active activities, I will do my best to give back to the Japan Gear Manufacturers Association, which I love, even if only in a small way. Therefore, I would like to ask for the cooperation of all the members, including the directors.
In closing, I would like to express my sincere respect and deep gratitude to former Chairman Ueda for his efforts in guiding us through the extremely harsh and difficult circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic.
